Grade 10 Math Portfolio Outline
(Course outline)

Please remember that your portfolio is worth 10% of your term mark.
Your portfolio is due two weeks before the start of exams (a specific date will be given later).
Late portfolios will lose 25% of their value for each day (or part day) they are overdue.
A portfolio is a collection of your best work; therefore, it should be presented as such (neat, organized, and with evidence of pride in your work). Even though your achievement may be poor (i.e. low marks), you can increase the value of your portfolio by turning a poor test or assignment into a learning opportunity by completing and attaching a detailed, corrected version of the activity. Be sure to read the evaluation rubric on the back of this sheet.
All corrections are to be completed on a separate sheet of paper, number clearly, and stapled to the original work. Work must be shown for corrections – simply writing the correct answer is not acceptable.

Your Portfolio should contain the following:

Any activities designated as a portfolio assignment.
Your best three quizzes.
Your best two tests.
All of your marked assignments (including mini-projects and case studies).
A self-evaluation of your work for this term as follows:

This will be a three-part evaluation. For each part, mark yourself out of 5 and support this mark with a short, clearly written paragraph stating why you deserve this mark. In your supporting statement you must refer to the work you have included in your portfolio. You may also refer to other work you have completed throughout the term.

Part II – effort and work ethic

Part III –level of understanding on concepts taught

(Please note: it is more important to be honest in your evaluation than it is to be glib.)

Your portfolio will be evaluated according to the rubric on the back of this sheet.

	2	Several components of self-evaluation are missing or student responses show little evidence of thought and careful consideration
