Jigsaw Groups

"Learning by teaching in a cooperative setting."

Each piece of the puzzle is needed in order to create the whole picture.
Each student is responsible for his or her own success through the success of the group.
Jigsaw Grouping is a cooperative learning technique that has each participant responsible for completing and understanding one part of the whole. Each participant must share his or her knowledge effectively with the group to complete the “puzzle”.
The group learns to work together and care about one another and a level of trust and interdependence develops.
Competition is replaced with cooperation to achieve the common goal of a finished product or a good grade.
No one individual can do it all alone.
Each student becomes an "expert" and teaches the rest of the home group.

How do I do it?What does it look like? How do I assess? How can I learn more? What is it?
