General Information

The „XX. Tage der Seltenen Erden“ will take place from November 29 to December 1, 2007, south of Cologne at the Andreas-Hermes-Akademie Bonn-Röttgen. Lodging will be in-house (or, if necessary in near-distance hotels) at a reasonable price (see “Accomodation”). All meals will be provided in-house.

The program structure will be as follows:
On November 29, 2007 we will get together at 17:00 h. The winner of the Terrae Rarae Award 2006, Prof. Dr. Glen B. Deacon, Monash University, will give a lecture followed by an invited talk after which there will be a buffet dinner. The evening is free for a social get-together in the “Schloßkeller”.
On November 30, 2007, we will start at 8:30 h with a morning session to which contributed short oral talks are welcome from PhD students and postdocs (up to the assistent professor level, or equivalent). The afternoon will be divided into two sessions, one with invited and contributed talks from more advanced people, the other (after coffee break) will be devoted on one or two hot topics. In the evening there will be a poster session (posters should be up the whole duration of the Conference) followed by a social get-together in the “Schloßkeller”. During this event the award Terrae Rarae 2007 will be presented.
On December 1, 2007, from 8:30 to 12:00 there will be both invited and contributed talks on any subject. After lunch, at 13:00, the Conference is over.

There will be no conference fee.

Contributions, both oral and poster, are welcome. Please use the "registration form". Together with that form we ask for an abstract (see sample abstract for formatting etc.). Deadline for the submission of abstracts is November 1, 2007. Proceedings will be provided to each participant free of charge.

November 1, 2007 is also the deadline for registration. This needs to be accompanied by your wishes for accomodation. Please do not directly try to book accomodation with Andreas-Hermes-Akademie. All booking and registration has to be made through me.
