Agenda: (...) Justus Liebig, name-giving patron of the University of Gießen, worked as a chemistry professor in Gießen from 1824 - 1852. In 1920, a museum was installed in the rooms of his former institute. It is one of the world's six most important chemistry museums representing a first grade historic place as here the most important German chemist made his groundbreaking discoveries (...) These discoveries had the effect that scientific and technologic chemistry as well as biochemistry in their present form basically started from here (...)
Evaluation: A substantial page with many information on the name-giving patron of the museum. The homepage covers areas such as "From silver fulminate to agrochemistry", "Life and works of Liebig", as well as "Chemical letters". The pictorial "Virtual round tour of the museum" is of particular interest. The information offered is completed by audio and video features, which nevertheless cannot replace a visit at the real museum itself.
