Interests

My interest on soil protozoa and protists in general continuously grew during my Bachelor studies. Luckily I was able to get a job as a student assistant in Michael Bonkowski's lab.

My Bachelor thesis dealt with the "Diversity of Amoeba in Tibetan Soils". From high-altitude soils in Tibet I have been sampling, culturing and sequencing amoeba for phylogenetic analyses and found a great number of completely new taxa in these soils.

During my Master studies I am continuing my studies on protists and especially on amoeba to gain more knowledge about this interesting group of organisms.

Scientific Career - Studies
