Giving Feedback

Optional face-to-face meeting for KISD students and University of Cologne students

This week, the 6th week, is again feedback week. Starting today Monday May 17th, you should send your text to a new peer editor whom you request. And you should also be receiving a text from the fellow student who requested you as their peer editor. If you lose the names and addresses of your editors or do not receive a text, you can find out that information under the link "My List of Peers" on the PCS homepage. If you would like though, you are invited to come to a face-to-face meeting to discuss your text with others. It is your choice.

Please only choose ONE peer editor for each text you write!!

One tip for corrections this week I might give you is to make sure the writer does not address the reader with "YOU". I know I do that but I am writing in a different genre. My genre is called "textbook writing" and there it is common to address the reader personally. However, in academic style papers it is not. What to do instead? Ask yourself who the reader is; if for example, the text is about studying then your reader is likely to be students. More about this next week.

If you have trouble getting your text corrected then please write me. If your editor does not respond please let me know. I am more than happy to correct all uncorected texts or just to take a look at a text for you to give you a second opinion.

If any other questions or problems come up please write and ask me, too.
