Located in the heart of Cologne, the General Linguistics and Historical-Comparative Linguistics offices are easy to reach:
Starting from Central Station, take the Stadtbahn (Lines 16 or 18) to Neumarkt. From there, take the aboveground Line 9 (Sülz) to Universität. Cross Kerpener Straße into Meister-Ekkehart-Straße. Follow the street as it turns left. The entrance to the Insitute is the first door on your left. The library is located on the third floor.
Another option is taking the German Railway (DB-Deutsche Bundesbahn) to the Köln-Bahnhof Süd train station. Exit the station towards Zülpicher Straße, go down the steps, cross the street and go left. Walk approximately one block, and directly after passing the green space, take the first right onto Meister-Ekkehart-Straße.

Prof. Keren Rice im April zu Gast
Prof. Keren Rice (University of Toronto), die kürzlich den Humboldt-Forschungspreis erhalten hat, wird im April im Institut für Linguistik zu Gast sein.
Anneliese Maier-Forschungspreis für Nick Evans
Die Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung hat Nick Evans (ANU, Canberra), der von der Kölner ASW nominiert wurde, mit dem dieses Jahr erstmals vergegebenen Anneliese Maier-Forschungspreis (250.000 EUR) ausgezeichnet (weitere Informationen). Nick wird in den kommenden 5 Jahren regelmäßig Gast am Institut sein.
Forschungsfreisemester von Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Himmelmann
