Craig Branham, Saint Louis, Saint Louis University, 1996. Die Edition, eine Master-Thesis, beschäftigte sich vor allem mit der Übertragung komplexer Editionsstrukturen in einen Hypertext auf der Basis von HTML mit Frames. Die eigentlichen Editionsinhalte sind nicht mehr verfügbar. Nur die Projektdokumentation (die "background chapters") ist noch im Netz einsehbar.

Ingrid Heidrich, Bonn, Universität Bonn, 1998-2004. Die umfassende Ausgabe bietet insgesamt 94 kritisch neu edierte Urkunden, ein Literaturverzeichnis, einen Ortsindex und eine Übersicht der Urkunden nach Empfängern und Überlieferung. Die Ausgabe wird kontinuierlich betreut und laufend ergänzt und erweitert.

Geleitet von Gerhard Schmitz, München, Monumenta Germaniae Historica, 1998-. Es handelt sich gewissermaßen um die Dokumentation der laufenden Arbeiten zu einer zu druckenden Ausgabe. Zusätzlich werden umfangreiche grundlegende und kontextualisierende Materialien und Hilfsmittel angeboten. Dazu gehören Kollationen der Handschriften, retodigitalisierte Fassungen alter Ausgaben, Verweise auf Quellen und Rezeptionen, digialisierte Studientexte und eine Konkordanz.

Ein maßgebliches Unternehmen für Entwicklungen auf dem Gebiet der "Image Based Edition". Eines der Ergebnisse des Projekts war das "Edition Production Toolkit" bzw. "Edition Production Technology". Im Netz verfügbar ist allerdings nicht die Edition selbst, sondern nur dokumentierende Informationen.

Guelf. 64 Weiss. zählt zu den ältesten und textgeschichtlich bedeutsamsten Handschriften in Deutschland. Ihre ältesten Teile stammen aus dem späten 5. Jahrhundert, der Haupttext wurde im frühen 8. Jahrhundert in Norditalien geschrieben. Der Codex ist einer der beiden wichtigsten vollständigen Textzeugen für die Enzyklopädie Isidors von Sevilla (gest. 636). Die Handschrift besteht ganz überwiegend aus Blättern, auf denen dieser Haupttext über ausradierten Texten steht, die aus sieben oder acht spätantiken Vorgängerhandschriften stammen. Unter diesen getilgten, aber noch lesbaren Werken befinden sich die älteste Überlieferung des griechischen Mediziners Galen, Teile von griechischen und lateinischen Evangelien- und Bibelhandschriften, einer der ältesten Texte des Römerbriefkommentars von ‚Ambrosiaster' und vor allem der gotische und lateinische Text von Teilen des Römerbriefs.
Die angestrebte Digitale Edition der Handschrift Cod. Guelf. 64 Weiss. zielt nicht in erster Linie auf eine philologische Edition der enthaltenen Texte, sondern dient der Erforschung und Exemplifizierung innovativer Publikations- und Editionstechniken. "St Gall, Stiftsbibliothek, ms 904 is a copy, written in ad 850–1, of Priscian’s Institutiones Grammaticae (Foundations of Grammar). [...] The manuscript was written in Irish script, probably in Ireland, and contains over 9,400 interlinear and marginal glosses [...]. More than one-third of these glosses were written in Old Irish, and as such constitute one of our most important corpora for that phase of the Irish language.
