Es gibt außerdem einige interessante zusätzliche (experimentelle) Features, wie eine "Magic Lens" (zum Überblenden der Abbildungen mit Transkriptionen) oder ein Interface zur selbständigen Transkription durch den Benutzer. Das Ganze ist eingebettet in ein weiter ausgreifendes Projekt "DoHistory".

Directed by Stephen Railton, Charlottesville, University of Virginia, 1998-2007. Vom Selbstverständnis her ein digitales Archiv, das eine ganze Reihe verschiedener Materialen zusammenbringt. Diese können über drei Modi (Browse Mode, Search Mode, Interpret Mode) erreicht werden. Zu den Inhalten gehören Pre-Texts, der Werktext, Informationen über die verschiedenen Ausgaben, Rezensionen und Reaktionen, Musikstücke, Aufführungen, didaktische Hilfsmittel (Zeitleiste, "Interpretative Exhibits", "Lesson Plans", ) usw. usf. Was fehlt ist eine kritische Textfassung, die die Varianz der Ausgaben berücksichtigen würde. Ansonsten handelt es sich hier aber tatsächlich um ein breit kontextualisiertes, wahrhaft multimediales Archiv.

Ein digitales Archiv, das sich durch die Abbildung und Transkription, die inhaltliche Erschließung (Themen, Namen etc.), die Bereitstellung von kontextualisierendem Zusatzmaterial, die Schaffung einer allgemeinen Ordnungs- und Zugangsstruktur, zusätzliche Nutzungswege ("Special Presentations") und eine ausgefeilte Suchoberfläche dem Konzept der "Edition annähert".
Sehr ähnlich, aber weniger weit ausgebaut sind auch die Thomas Jefferson Papers, ebenfalls an der Library of Congress.

Ed. by Morris Eaves, Robert Essick and Joseph Viscomi, Chapel Hill (NC), University of North Carolina, 1997-. Ein "hypermedia archive". Das Archiv enthält vor allem die Werke Blakes (teilweise in mehrfachen Ausgaben) als digitale Faksimiles und als (diplomatische) Transkription sowie mit sehr guten und umfangreichen bibliographischen Beschreibungen. Daneben weitere Materialien (Bibliographie, Biographie, Glossar, Sekundärliteratur). Für die Abbildungen wird ein "Java-Image-Sizer" verwendet, der nicht nur eine Größeneinstellung erlaubt, sondern auch die Kalibrierung des Monitors unterstützt, um die korrekte Wiedergabe der Farben zu ermöglichen. Zu den Werkzeugen gehört weiterhin ein Annotationstool (Inote), mit dem die Inhalte kommentiert werden können.

Streng genommen handelt es sich um retrodigitalisierte Druckausgaben. Der Anspruch ist es hier aber, zu den Autoren des russischen Kanons die jeweils besten Ausgaben als elektronische Volltexte verfügbar zu machen und mit weiterem Material (Forschungsliteratur, Briefeditionen etc.) zu kontextualisieren. Insofern erhebt das Projekt durchaus einen wissenschaftlichen und kritischen Anspruch. Verfügbar sind bisher die Editionen zu Pushkin, Batiushkov, Griboedov, Boratynskii, Tiutchev, Lermontov, Leo Tolstoy, Esenin, Sholokhov sowie als einzelne Werke "The Lay of Igor's Campaign" und als Werksammlungen "Byliny" und "Fairy Tales" (Skazki).

Domenico Fiormonte e.a., Edinburgh 1996-2003. Anhand verschiedener Autoren des 20. Jh. werden für das Problem der Textgenese und der Textvarianz neue Formen der Edition und editorischen Darstellung gesucht. Das Projekt versteht sich dabei als offene Plattform für die Arbeiten verschiedener Editoren. Zu den beispielhaft bearbeiteten Autoren gehören Vincenzo Cerami, Angel García Galiano, Valerio Magrelli, José Antonio Millán, Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, Francesca Sanvitale, Fernando Savater, Francisco Solano und Roberto Vacca. Unter einem Paradigma des "documentary editing" sind insgesamt 12 "Mini-Editions" von hauptsächlich archivischem Material (z.B. Nachlassdokumente) entstanden. Davon bieten neun ausgezeichnete Volltexte, zwei basieren auf digitalen Abbildungen und eine enthält Volltexte und Abbildungen. Die Texte sind in SGML/XML ausgezeichnet, die Darstellung der Editionen greift teilweise auf XML/SGML-Browser (wie z.B. Dynaweb) zurück. Die einzelnen Editionen legen leicht unterschiedliche Schwerpunkte und benutzen teilweise unterschiedliche technische Lösungen. Hypernietzsche "is a kind of research matrix that creates a virtual workspace". Das Projekt bringt Quelldokumente ("Public Archive") und (neu entstehende) wissenschaftliche Texte zu Nietzsches Werk ("Open Publishing") zusammen. Konzeptionell steht hier weniger Textkritik und kritische Edition im Vordergrund als vielmehr ein hoch organisiertes, auch semantisch erschlossenes digitales Archiv unter dem Paradigma des Hypertextes. Insbesondere die Notizbücher sind aber diplomatisch genau transkribiert, partiengenau mit den Abbildungen verknüpft und können in verschiedenen Textstufen (markup, diplomatisch, geglätteter Text) dargestellt und synoptisch verglichen werden.

Einige Werke als Volltexte, die Manuskripte als Faksimiles mit diplomatisch genauem Text. Umfassendes Kontextmaterial (Bibliographie, Biographie, Rezensionen, Fotogalerie, Schüler). Technisch ist das Archiv im Jahr 2000 von HTML auf XML nach einer für das Projekt erweiterten TEI-DTD umgestellt worden (siehe die "Encoding Guidelines for Poetry Manuscripts"). Zusätzlich werden EAD (für die Beschreibung von Archivalien) und METS für komplexe digitale Objekte verwendet.

Inhaltlich bietet die Ausgabe neben Faksimiles einen tief ausgezeichneten Text, aus dem sowohl eine diplomatische Fassung, als auch eine normalisierte ("reading"-) Version. Diese bietet voreinstellungsgemäß die jeweils letzte Textfassung, es können aber auch frühere Varianten angezeigt werden. Die CD verwendet Folio-Views zur Darstellung der Inhalte und ist immer noch lieferbar.
